The Story

Shalanda was living her life like normal until she was hit by a stray bullet. The resulting cascade of events finds her bleeding from her head, facing a gun charge, and struggling to pay her cash bail. What is the price of the freedom?

The Vision

The aim with this film is to make the emotions of the moments visual. We are not trying to make a faithful recreation of what exactly happened. Instead, we want to bring Shalanda’s words and experiences to the screen and have people puzzle over the question of “What is the point of cash bail?” and “Is this fair?”
